How to take database backup of oracle 10g.

Step 1: Open command prompt run as administrator.

Step 2: Write following command

                          sqlplus

now,type following in corresponding field:

For user-name :                     sys as sysdba

For Password  :                                  system

 

after login as administrator do following steps Carefully....

Step 3: => Now, First of all we can create directory for take a backup where the backup                         files are stored.

                => you can create folder with name 'backup' in to your hard drive. for examplw                            here i create 'backup' folder in 'D:\'.

To create a directory write following command.but in that copy path from 'backup' folder.

                    create or replace directory backup as 'D:\backup';

Now, you can see message 'Directory created'. so, here your directory is created with name 'backup'.

Step 4: Now, exit from sql so type:

                                                         exit

Thus, you are disconnect from the database oracle but still in cmd.

Step 5: It's time to take a backup so write following command carefully....

exqdp sys/system directory=backup full=y dumpfile=oracel.dmp logfile=oracle.log 

Than, run this command carefully than wait for some times to complete the process of taking backup. 

After completion of process of backup you can see the 'Backup complete successfully'

Now you can see the 'oracle.dmp' & 'oracle.log' files in to "D:\backup\" folder.
