Today i write a post on creating a one click shortcut for shutdown / reboot / log-off your windows PC.
For that you want to do following 4 easy steps.
Step-1: create a shortcut on your desktop
by right-clicking on the desktop>choosing New>Shortcut.
Step-2: The Create Shortcut Wizard appears.
In the box asking for the location of the shortcut, type
Step-3: After that asking for the name of the shortcut, type any name.here i put name "shutdown".
Step-4: Go to Desktop and Double-clicking on that shortcut, your PC will shutdown.
But you can do much more with a shutdown shortcut than merely shut down your PC.
Type Following in the Step-2 when asking for loacation.
shutdown -r -t 01 -c "Rebooting your PC"
Double-clicking on that shortcut will reboot your PC after a one-second delay and display the message "Rebooting your PC."
Here are the ones I use:
shutdown -s -t 30 -c "Bye Bye.. Your PC Shutdown in 30 Seconds"
Double-clicking on that shortcut will Shutdown your PC after a "30"seconds delay and display
the message "Bye Bye.. Your PC Shutdown in 30 Seconds"
shutdown -r -t 30 -c "Bye Bye.. Your PC Reboot in 30 Seconds"
Double-clicking on that shortcut will Reboot your PC after a "30"seconds delay and display
the message "Bye Bye.. Your PC Reboot in 30 Seconds"
Shutdown -a
cancel shutdown/reboot/log-off.
Cases:
-s
Shuts down the PC.
-l
Logs off the current user.
-t nn
Indicates the duration of delay, in seconds, before performing the action.
-c "messagetext"
Displays a message in the System Shutdown window. A maximum of 127 characters can be used. The message must be enclosed in quotation marks.
-f
Forces any running applications to shut down.
-r
Reboots the PC.
-a
Cancel Shurdown/reboot/logs-off.
